An elegant study in proportion and detail, this antique biscuit box by Walker & Hall reflects the refined rituals of Edwardian-era table service—where even the smallest offering was presented with intention.

The finely cut glass bowl is adorned with crisp starburst and panel-cut motifs, designed to catch the light from every angle. It is cradled within a silver-plated architectural frame, raised on a circular base with delicate beaded edging and supported by four turned columns.

A domed lid, engraved with a subtle foliate wreath, sits neatly within the rim, topped by a spherical finial. Completing the piece is a graceful swing handle—both functional and sculptural—allowing the box to be carried or presented with ease. The addition of the handle elevates it from a static serving object to something more interactive, almost ceremonial in nature.

Collectors Notes

This is a piece that embodies the quiet theater of hosting—where presentation was as considered as the contents themselves.

Originally intended for biscuits or sweets, it lends itself beautifully today to wrapped chocolates, sugar cubes, or even as a lidded vessel on a bar for citrus or garnishes. The handle introduces a sense of movement—equally at home being passed around a table or resting as a centerpiece.

There’s a certain charm in objects that invite interaction—and this one does so with restraint and grace.

It pairs naturally with our Silver collection, and makes a graceful Housewarming Gifts pick.

Who Are You Buying From?

Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
