Vintage 1940s Heuer 32mm Chronograph with Turquoise Sterling Bracelet

An exceptionally characterful vintage Heuer chronograph dating to the 1940s, distinguished by its compact 32mm case, glossy black dial, and highly collectible early “squished” Heuer logo.

The dial has everything one wants from a period chronograph: crisp Arabic numerals, twin subsidiary registers, a finely graduated outer track, and slender hands set against a rich black surface. At just 32mm, the so-called “baby chronograph” proportions are particularly charming and unmistakably of the era—a far cry from the oversized chronographs that would follow decades later.

What makes this example especially compelling is the bracelet. Rather than a conventional leather strap, the watch has been fitted with a rare vintage sterling silver link bracelet decorated with stamped Aztec motifs and bezel-set turquoise cabochons. The silver has developed a natural patina that contrasts beautifully with the vivid turquoise and polished steel case. It gives the watch an unexpected Southwestern character while still feeling entirely appropriate to its vintage origins.

Together, the combination transforms an already collectible early Heuer into something singular: part vintage chronograph, part jewelry, and very much an object with its own point of view.
