Van Cleef & Arpels "Gondole" Watch in Yellow Gold - c. 1950s

This particular timepiece is reminiscent of a Cartier "Gondole" with oval case shape.  Though the dial carries the Van Cleef & Arpels name, the movement inside was produced by UTI Paris (Utinam), a respected French manufacturer, also founded in 1906. Known for its precision instruments, from railway timers to refined wristwatches, UTI was a trusted partner for maisons seeking mechanical excellence beneath elegant exteriors. Likely dating to the 70's, this piece reflects that postwar golden era when even decorative timepieces were built with intention. The French Eagle’s Head hallmark on the case confirms its 18k gold content and origin—a subtle detail for the discerning eye. Dial: There are some small marks on the outer edges, particularly between the 7 and 8 o-clock markers but they are not distracting. Very nice preservation overall and presents nicely to the naked eye.

Hands: Are matching.

Case: Potentially unpolished with extremely crisp hallmarks. The unsigned crown appears correct.

Bracelet: Is a generic brown two piece leather strap.

Crystal: Clear.
