Stig Lindberg for Gustavsberg Mid Century Fish Plate - Sweden 1960s
A wonderfully expressive ceramic fish plate designed by Stig Lindberg for Gustavsberg, one of the most beloved figures in Swedish mid-century design.
The plate features a stylized fish form with repeating scale patterns that create texture and visual rhythm across the surface. Rendered in warm brown tones, the piece highlights Lindberg’s playful approach to form while maintaining the clean simplicity associated with Scandinavian design.
Lindberg’s work for Gustavsberg helped define the aesthetic of post-war Swedish ceramics, combining artistic personality with everyday functionality. Pieces like this fish plate were designed to bring a sense of visual interest to the table.
Whether used as a serving dish or displayed as wall decor, the plate remains a charming example of mid-century Scandinavian craftsmanship.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
