This elegantly curved sterling silver mustard pot is a refined example of early 20th-century English silversmithing, crafted by the esteemed firm Blanckensee & Son. Hallmarked for Birmingham, 1907, the piece features a distinctive helmet-form body with an elongated oval profile, fitted with a hinged domed lid and intricate rope-twist rim. The angular handle is beautifully detailed, providing a touch of architectural contrast to the otherwise fluid form.

Its timeless proportions, clean surface, and restrained decorative flourishes make it a versatile collectible—equally at home in a curated silver collection or on a well-set table alongside contemporary serveware.

Comes with the fitted cobalt glass liner.

Collectors Notes

This mustard pot makes a distinguished addition to a silver cruet set or can be reimagined as a refined vessel for salt, on a bar cart, or dinner table. For those who entertain with a sense of tradition, this piece adds just the right amount of historical gravitas. A thoughtful gift for a silver collector or a host with a penchant for British elegance. A group of these in different styles on a tray would be elegant.

It pairs naturally with our Silver collection, and makes a distinguished Housewarming Gifts pick.

Who Are You Buying From?

Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
