Silver Plated Hinged Tea Caddy Box on Ball Feet

Name: Silver Plated Hinged Tea Caddy Box on Ball Feet
Brand: Collectors Gene
Price: 350.00 USD
Availability: OutOfStock

A quietly sculptural piece, this antique silver plated tea caddy reflects a period when even the most utilitarian objects were treated with a sense of proportion and care.

The form is softly architectural—subtly curved sides rising to a gently domed lid, all resting on four spherical ball feet. The hinged top opens with a satisfying weight, revealing a clean interior once intended for loose tea, now ready to be reimagined.

Its surface carries a natural patina, lending depth to the silver plate and softening the lines just enough to feel lived with rather than polished to perfection. There is restraint here—no excess ornamentation, just balance, proportion, and a considered silhouette.

Equally suited to a desk, bar, or bedside, it’s a piece that invites both use and reinterpretation.

Collectors Notes

Tea caddies were once deeply personal objects—used daily, handled often, and kept within reach.

Today, pieces like this take on a different role. The scale and form make it ideal for small, meaningful storage—things you return to often but don’t necessarily put away.

It’s the kind of object that transitions easily between rooms: from a desk to a bar, from a bedside to a powder room—always retaining its sense of purpose, even as that purpose evolves.

It pairs naturally with our Silver and Home Decor collections, and makes an adaptable Housewarming Gifts pick.

Who Are You Buying From?

Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
