This minimalist sculpture reduces a hand down to a single flat, gently curved plane of silver metal, the fingers and thumb cut in one continuous silhouette rather than built up from separate parts. The surface is left plain and reflective, letting the outline alone carry the whole piece rather than any applied texture or detail.
The form has the restrained, sculptural quality attributed to Lino Sabattini's work, an Italian designer known for pushing silver and silver plated metal into pure, simplified shapes that read as much as sculpture as functional design. Whether or not this particular piece was a formal production model, it clearly reflects that same design sensibility.
The base curves gently to allow the piece to stand on its own, so it can be displayed freestanding on a shelf or console without a separate stand. At 7 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches, it has enough presence to work as a standalone accent piece.
Made and sourced in Italy, this is a striking, conversation starting object for anyone drawn to mid-century Italian design or minimalist metal sculpture more broadly.
Scratches commensurate with age.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
