Forest Green Ceramic Catchall - Italy c.1960

A vintage Sicart ceramic catchall dating to the 1960s, finished in a deep forest green glaze. The piece takes a deceptively simple circular form, with a broad rounded rim that slopes gradually into the recessed center. Its saturated color, smooth surface and restrained silhouette give the object a distinctly modern presence.

Rather than relying on pattern or applied decoration, the design is almost entirely about proportion and color. The thick, rounded perimeter creates a pleasing sense of weight, while the glossy green glaze catches the light differently across the curved surface.
