Ritz Carlton Hotel Porcelain Serving Platter by Rosenthal – Furnished by L. Barth & Son
An extraordinary piece of hospitality history, this vintage porcelain serving plate was produced by Rosenthal in Selb, Bavaria, exclusively for the legendary Ritz Carlton Hotel and distributed by L. Barth & Son of New York. L. Barth & Son, a renowned hotelware supplier active from the early 1900s until its merger with Albert Pick & Co. in 1925, furnished some of the most prestigious hotels of the era.
The plate features a refined rectangular form with elegantly softened corners and a border adorned in a repeating lattice pattern of green diamonds, punctuated by delicate floral motifs in soft pink and violet hues. Crafted with precision by Rosenthal, whose crown and crossed-scepter hallmark signifies authenticity and superior quality, this piece reflects the golden age of European porcelain made for the American luxury market.
Whether used as a functional serving dish or displayed as a decorative artifact, it represents a rare intersection of old-world craftsmanship and early 20th-century hotel culture. A prized acquisition for collectors of hotel silver, fine porcelain, or ephemera from storied institutions like the Ritz Carlton.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
