Pink Scavo Murano Amphora Vase with Lions Heads by Paolo Rubelli – Italy
This rare Murano art glass amphora vase by Paolo Rubelli embodies the poetic tension between antiquity and modern craftsmanship. Executed in the Scavo style a technique developed in the 1950s to mimic the weathered surface of ancient archaeological glass this vase is softly matte and textured, as if unearthed from a Roman villa. The delicate blush-pink tone is infused with subtle flecks, lending a sun-washed, timeworn elegance that complements the classical silhouette.
The amphora features twin curled twin handles in clear glass and is adorned with a striking lion head medallion also clear emblematic of Venetian strength and regality. The form echoes ancient storage vessels, while the scale, color, and clarity render them thoroughly collectible for today’s refined interiors.
Whether displayed on a mantel, flanking a mirror, or used as sculpture, this is quintessentially Murano: inventive, historic, and beautifully made.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
