A sculptural vintage Murano glass amphora vase by Oggetti, Italy, distinguished by its monumental form, architectural handles, and richly textured Scavo glass surface. Measuring approximately 13 inches tall, the vase draws inspiration from ancient Roman and Mediterranean vessels while interpreting the classical amphora through the lens of 20th-century Italian glass design.
The substantial body rises from a narrow foot into a rounded belly and flared neck, framed by two dramatic angular handles. Its warm earth-toned glass is treated using the traditional Scavo technique, which creates the characteristic matte, weathered surface associated with glass that has been excavated after centuries underground. The resulting finish deliberately gives the piece the appearance and texture of an archaeological artifact.
Produced for Oggetti in Italy, the vase represents the period in which Murano glassmakers increasingly looked to ancient forms and experimental surface treatments to create objects that blurred the distinction between decorative art and sculpture.
The combination of its generous scale, unusual silhouette, and heavily textured surface makes this a particularly compelling example of vintage Italian Murano glass equally suited to holding branches or flowers or standing entirely on its own as a sculptural object.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
