A rare and elegant Art Deco vase designed by renowned Danish artist Just Andersen (1884–1943), identified as Model D19. This smaller-scale version retains all of the sculptural sophistication of Andersen's larger works, featuring a flared scalloped form, curled side handles, and a beautifully aged dark patina.
Crafted in Andersen's patented Disko metal alloy during the late 1920s to 1930s, the vessel exemplifies the designer's pioneering approach to decorative metalwork. Named after Greenland's Disko Bay, the alloy combines pewter, lead, and antimony to create a substantial material with a distinctive matte sheen and rich tonal variation.
The compact proportions make this an ideal decorative accent for a shelf, vanity, bar, or desk. Whether used as a small planter, cachepot, vessel for matches or cocktail accessories, or displayed simply as a sculptural object, it represents the timeless appeal of Scandinavian Art Deco design.
