A substantial vintage Italian vide poche pairing beautifully figured cream travertine with a metal bowl insert. The broad, rounded stone body has an almost doughnut-like sculptural quality, while the recessed reflective center provides a refined contrast to the porous, organic surface of the travertine.
The stone is especially attractive, with irregular markings, natural cavities and warm tonal variations that move from ivory to sand. These characteristics are inherent to travertine and give the piece the kind of visual depth that cannot be replicated in a manufactured surface. The polished metal insert catches its surroundings and changes subtly depending on where the object is placed.
Generous in scale, this feels as much like a small piece of Italian sculpture as it does a functional object. It has enough presence to sit alone on a coffee table or console, yet its understated palette allows it to layer easily among books, bronze, silver and other collected objects.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
