An exceptional example of Hermes' mid-century decorative arts, this vintage table lighter was produced in France by the renowned silversmith Ravinet d'Enfert during the 1960s. Executed in deep oxblood lacquer with parcel-gilt metal accents, the lighter is adorned with one of Hermes' most recognizable design elements a sculptural belt and buckle motif that pays homage to the house's enduring equestrian heritage.
Rather than treating a utilitarian object as merely functional, Hermes elevated the everyday table lighter into a refined desktop sculpture. The elegant proportions, warm lacquer finish, and polished gilt detailing allow the piece to function beautifully as a decorative object whether displayed on a desk, library table, cocktail bar, or coffee table.
