An exceptionally rare silver-plated golf trophy by Hermès Paris, designed in the form of a miniature golf ball bucket and awarded at the “Alliance de Rochefort” tournament in 1977.
Elegant in both concept and execution, the piece features a cylindrical pierced body with twisted rope-form swing handles—a subtle nod to classic sporting and equestrian design languages long associated with the house of Hermès. The trophy is engraved:
“Alliance de Rochefort
3ème Prix Brut
24-9-77”
Originally presented as a the 3rd prize for gross score placement (“prix brut”) during the 1977 competition, the piece embodies the kind of refined sporting object rarely encountered today—functional in inspiration, yet deeply sculptural in form.
The inside bears the stamped Hermès Paris mark, further elevating its collectibility and rarity. While modest in scale, it carries remarkable presence, equally suited to a desk, cocktail table, bookshelf, or curated cabinet of sporting objects.
