Hermes Horse Head Equestrian Scissors
A distinctive pair of vintage Hermes scissors combining an everyday desk object with the equestrian vocabulary at the heart of the French Maison. The handles are formed as two sculptural horse heads, transforming a utilitarian object into a particularly charming example of Hermès design.
Each polished handle curves around to meet a finely modeled horse's head, complete with articulated ears, eyes, mane, and facial details. When the scissors are closed, the opposing horses create an elegant symmetry; when opened, the sculptural handles remain immediately recognizable as an Hermès equestrian reference. The long, tapered steel blades provide a handsome contrast to the warmer tone and dimensional character of the handles.
Hermes began as a Parisian harness workshop in 1837, and horses, bridles, saddlery, and other equestrian references have remained central to the House's visual identity ever since. Objects such as these are particularly collectible because they bring that history into an unexpected category. Rather than a traditional piece of jewelry or leatherwork, the scissors translate the equestrian motif into something designed for the desk.
At just over eight inches long, they have enough presence to remain on display rather than disappearing into a drawer. A rare and collectible vintage Hermes desk accessory for collectors of the Maison's equestrian objects, unusual luxury accessories, and beautifully made everyday tools.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
