A graceful pencil drawing portraying two attentive hounds one white, one dark gazing upward toward a cockatoo perched on the edge of a classical urn. Set in a landscaped garden overlooking a river or lake, the composition is rich in detail: climbing ivy, ornamental stonework, and distant trees lend the scene a layered sense of place.
Both dogs are captured with elegance and sensitivity, their postures alert but serene. The cockatoo, perched high, seems to return their gaze, suggesting a moment of quiet tension or mutual curiosity. The classical elements the pedestal urn, sweeping grounds, and mature trees suggest a European country estate, while the style and technique align with early-to-mid 20th century hand drawings.
Provenance: Property from a Bunny Williams decorated 5th Avenue Estate

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
