A handsome antique silver plated box featuring an elegant equestrian motif to the lid, depicting four horses standing behind a fence in raised relief. Square in form with a hinged lid and clean architectural lines, the piece balances understated mid-century styling with classic sporting imagery.
Likely originally intended as a cigarette box, it transitions beautifully today as a desk accessory, card holder, or refined catchall for small valuables. The recessed panel to the top, signed “Mahon,” gives the piece a sculptural quality while reinforcing its distinctly equestrian character.
Freshly replated, the silver finish has a bright, clean appearance that contrasts beautifully against darker woods, leather surfaces, or layered barware arrangements.
