Duck Head & Tail Serving Dish with Insert in Silver Plate

A charming silver plated serving dish featuring a sculptural duck head and feather-form tail detail, paired with its fitted removable glass insert. Oval in form and generously sized for entertaining, the piece balances functionality with a distinctly whimsical sporting aesthetic.

The stylized duck head rises elegantly from one end of the dish, lending the piece the character of classic English country house serveware, while the polished silver plate and clean oval lines keep the overall presentation refined and understated. The removable glass insert allows for easy serving and versatility, making it equally suited for warm hors d’oeuvres, chilled seafood presentations, side dishes, or bar accompaniments.

An eye-catching entertaining piece that feels equally appropriate in a traditional dining room, bar setting, or lakeside retreat.

Collectors Notes

Animal-form serving pieces have long held a place within sporting and country house traditions, particularly those tied to game birds and waterfowl. This example carries that same sense of relaxed elegance—functional enough for regular use, yet sculptural enough to display between gatherings.

The removable glass liner makes the dish particularly versatile. It works beautifully for pastas, dips, crudités, or even pastries.

Pieces like this embody the sort of entertaining objects that quietly become part of a home’s rituals—brought out season after season, always sparking conversation.

It pairs naturally with our Silver and Home Decor collections, and makes a conversational Housewarming Gifts pick.

Who Are You Buying From?

Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
