Chaumet Tiger's Eye & Onyx Box with 18K Gold
Found in United States
An exceptional and rare vintage Chaumet Paris box, crafted from richly figured tiger's eye and lined entirely in polished black onyx. Measuring an impressive eight inches across, the box has a low, architectural profile that allows the natural stone to become the focal point of the design.
The exterior is constructed from individual panels of tiger's eye, carefully arranged to showcase the stone's extraordinary chatoyancy. Bands of golden brown appear to move across the nearly black surface as the box catches the light, giving an otherwise restrained rectangular form remarkable depth and movement.
Opening the hinged lid reveals a dramatically contrasting black onyx interior, creating a sleek, almost monolithic appearance. The box is finished with an 18-karat gold-mounted thumb push, detailed with a twisted rope motif—a small but unmistakably luxurious detail characteristic of Chaumet's approach to precious objects.
Founded in Paris in 1780, Chaumet is best known for its exceptional jewelry, though the maison's objets are particularly coveted for bringing the same combination of precious materials, craftsmanship, and restrained French elegance to the home.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
