Cartier shapes this box after a chestnut, its rounded, slightly irregular silhouette capturing the organic asymmetry of the real thing rather than a perfectly smooth sphere. A textured, granular patch at one end mimics the rough burr where a chestnut splits from its husk, complete with a small curled stem detail, while the rest of the exterior is left in a high polish that catches light across its uneven, naturalistic curves.
Lifting the lid reveals a gilt interior in a warm, rich gold tone, a striking contrast to the bright silver exterior and a detail typical of Cartier's more luxurious small object production. The interior is smooth and unadorned, letting the gilt finish itself be the entire decorative statement inside.
The piece carries an FC 925 mark, indicating sterling silver content and identifying Fratelli Cacchione, the Italian silversmith workshop that manufactured or retailed the piece for Cartier, a detail that adds real specificity to its production history.
Made in Italy, this is a substantial, sculptural silver box, equally suited as a jewelry or trinket box or simply displayed as a piece of nature inspired Cartier design.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
