Found in Sweden

A sculptural Art Deco pewter bowl or vase by C.G. Hallberg, designed in the refined Swedish Grace style of the early 20th century.

The vessel features a pedestal base supporting an urn like vessel form, accented by subtle side handles and an elegant laurel wreath motif on the front. This decorative detail adds a classical touch while maintaining the restrained aesthetic that defines Swedish Grace design.

Pewter was widely used in Scandinavian decorative arts during this period, valued for its soft metallic tone and ability to showcase subtle relief details. Over time, the metal develops a natural patina that enhances its depth and character.

Whether used as a small planter, decorative bowl, or stand-alone object, the piece reflects the harmonious balance between classicism and modernism that made Swedish Grace such an influential design movement.

Collectors Notes

C.G. Hallberg was among Sweden’s most important metalwork houses, producing finely crafted silver and pewter objects that helped define Scandinavian decorative arts in the early 20th century.

The laurel wreath motif, seen here, was often used to evoke classical elegance an aesthetic hallmark of the Swedish Grace movement.

Today these pieces are prized by collectors for their subtle ornamentation, architectural silhouettes, and timeless Nordic sensibility.

It's a fitting addition to our Home Decor collection, and a classic Housewarming Gifts pick.

Who Are You Buying From?

Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
