Found in United States

This mustard pot is worked in sterling silver with a faceted, architectural body raised on four small ball feet, giving it a settled, substantial stance on the table. The hinged lid opens to a rounded thumbpiece, and a shaped opening at the rim accommodates a small spoon for serving.

Inside, a cobalt blue glass liner protects the silver from contact with mustard or other condiments, its rich color visible through the opening even when the lid is closed. The contrast between the bright silver exterior and the deep blue glass is a classic combination in English silver condiment pieces from this era.

The faceted panels along the body catch light differently depending on the angle, giving the piece more visual interest than a plain cylindrical form would. It is a genuinely antique piece, showing the kind of soft, even patina consistent with age and use rather than a newer reproduction.

Made in the United Kingdom, this is a well proportioned, functional piece of English silver, equally at home in daily use at the table or as a small decorative object with its own history.

Collectors Notes

Small antique English silver pieces like this mustard pot are a nice addition to our Silver collection, especially with the cobalt glass liner still intact.

It suits the table settings in our Home Decor edit and makes an affordable pick from our Wedding Gifts selection.

Who Are You Buying From?

Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
