Each dish is shallow with a horseshoe-shaped rim in gold-tone brass that curves gently around the edge, a subtle equestrian reference rendered in miniature.

Like the cigarette box, this ashtray was produced in collaboration with Ravinet d'Enfert, the noted French silversmithing house responsible for a number of fine Hermes decorative objects from this era.

This ashtray works beautifully used as intended, or repurposed as ring dishes, catchalls for loose change and small jewelry, or simply displayed as a piece of objet.
